The Michigan Herp Atlas Is Now Mobile!
We are excited to announce that the Michigan Herp Atlas is now available as a mobile app for both iOS and Android devices!
The new Michigan Herp Atlas app makes it easier than ever to contribute amphibian and reptile observations while you are out exploring Michigan. Whether you encounter a turtle crossing a road, a salamander under a log, a snake along a trail, or frogs calling from a wetland, you can now document and submit your observations directly from your mobile device.
Take the Michigan Herp Atlas Into the Field
With the new app, you can:
- Document observations directly from the field
- Upload photographs of the amphibians and reptiles you encounter
- Record observation locations and important sighting information
- Use species information to help identify Michigan’s amphibians and reptiles
- Keep track of your observations
- Contribute valuable data to our growing statewide database
Every observation matters. Common species are just as important to document as rare ones. Consistent records help us better understand where species occur, identify changes in distribution, recognize potential range expansions, and provide information that can support amphibian and reptile research and conservation throughout Michigan.
